Information Systems Resource Centre Pvt Ltd (ISRC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Otis Elevator Company – The largest elevator manufacturer in the world. Otis is part of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a USD 53 Billion company that has other flagship companies such as Carrier, Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand, Sikorsky, UTC Fire & Security and UTC Power. ISRC was established in 1995 as a MIS department for Otis Elevator Company (India) Ltd. This department thereafter addressed some small application development needs from Otis companies in the Asia Pacific Area (APAC). This MIS department was converted into a separate company in 1996.

From an entity focused on providing limited software solutions to smaller entities, today ISRC has become a significant IT enabler of the many core business functions within Otis. In addition, ISRC has also acquired customers from within other UTC business units over the years thereby becoming one of the preferred partners for software development within UTC. The organization strategy was redrafted in 2007 to be more aligned to Otis’ business goals. The strategy was centered around 4 levers:

Key strategic systems
ISRC’s key strategic drivers are centered on building, deploying and supporting large scale business applications across Otis business in technologies that are most appropriate for enhancing the productivity and efficiency of the Business globally.

Retain domain knowledge
Building applications that are centered on productive business outcomes require people who have significant knowledge of the Otis business. Therefore retention of Otis business knowledge is a key component of the strategy thereby providing value added service to parent business.

Cost and resource control
A strict control on costs while continuing to add value to the business is a key strategic component which resulted in the decision to make ISRC a captive development Centre – solely focused on software development for Otis and other companies within UTC.

Leverage Otis/UTC practices
ISRC being a UTC company offers the highest level of confidence to rest of the UTC organization in terms of dealing with one of their own. As is the case with all other UTC businesses, ISRC follows all corporate-wide requirements related to Code of Ethics (CoE), Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE). ISRC offers a secure IT environment by having dedicated network access to UTC companies only and in ensuring its security by adhering to all IT security policies. ISRC is an organization that focuses on Employee Health & safety as a core absolute of the organization and has embodied Service Excellence in its culture.

ISRC is the largest software development organizations within Otis/UTC umbrella of companies. Over the last 10 years the organization has increased its contribution to Otis/ UTC and has grown from a 30 member company to over 300+ members as on date. ISRC has constantly worked towards providing a comprehensive portfolio of services to its customers while keeping the organization strategy in place.
