ISRC has a dedicated team for Performance Management Center (PMC) dedicated in providing services for application performance. PMC has executed Performance Testing and monitoring assignments across many UTC business units to make their applications more stable and performance friendly resulting in improved customer satisfaction.

Using the HP Performance suite of products (Performance Centre, Business Availability Centre and Site Scope Tools) the PMC has been successful in identifying performance tuning improvements in the area of application, database, operating system and network level.

The Performance Management Centre (PMC) provides the following services outlined in this brief overview.

Performance Management Services
PMC provides end-to-end services in Performance Management as under:

Life Cycle of System Performance
PMC offers the following Services.
  • Performance Testing and Certification
  • Performance Monitoring
  • Performance Diagnostics and Tuning

Performance Certification
Performance testing is the discipline of simulating end-user transactions repetitively on actual hardware, across the physical networks. This exercise captures the results and identifies areas for improvement. Once the application performance meets the expected business requirements and performance targets, the application is certified for production deployment.

There are two important dimensions to software performance timeliness:

  • Responsiveness is the ability of a system to meet its objectives for response time (total time to return request) and throughput (total events processed in a time interval).
  • Scalability is the ability of a system to continue to meet its response time or throughput objectives as user demand increases.

High Availability with Performance Monitoring
Performance Monitoring is an ongoing, post-implementation activity to proactively detect potential performance issues, trigger alerts to support staff and provide tools to diagnose problems.

PMC simulates end-user experience and provides visibility to transactions across the enterprise. With detailed real-time and historical information about performance, utilization, route quality, system resources and end-user response times OTIS PMC executes this monitoring by using HP Business Availability Centre and Site Scope Tools.

Web-based dashboards and reports provide network managers with real-time visibility into end-user response time. Issues can be quickly isolated and root cause identified.

Supporting Technologies
The Performance testing and monitoring is being executed for most of market oriented / dominated technologies (Web / Windows based) such as .net, Java, SQL, Oracle, SAP, AS 400, DB2, SOA applications, etc. For those applications which are presently not supported or use a third party tools, PMC initially does a proof-of- concept with their in-house expertise and determines whether performance certification or monitoring tools will work or recommends alternative solutions.

Performance Diagnostics
Using performance management tools, skilled engineers investigate and analyse the issue at the client, application, database, network or hardware levels. The PMC has process to engage vendor parties to pinpoint overall changes in network traffic and end-user behaviors to manage network growth.
